Today Rm 25 attended a football taster before lunch. We had 3 coaches. They demonstrated some skills and we practised the skills.

Julian's animation
Room 25 was learning about the legend of Nian in conjunction with Chinese New Year. Julian created the animation above based on the legend.
CPDS Chinese New Year
Ni Hao,
CPDS celebrated Chinese New Year last Friday. It was a wonderful experience as many of the CPDS Chinese parents came to share their culture with us. We were fortunate to be able to taste dumplings and red bean buns made for us by our wonderful parents. Room 25 presented a play on the legend of Chinese New Year during assembly. Jifei's grandmother performed a sword dance and a fan dance. We were fortunate to watch a professional Lion Dance performance.

Growth Mindset
Ni Hao,
On Thursday, Room 25 discussed "Growth Mindset" . We discovered that there are 2 types of mindsets. A fixed mindset and a growth mindset. We listened to Mrs Singh read 'Your Fantastic Elastic Brain' .
Some of the words that were new to us were neurons, neuroplasticity, constructive feedback and malleable. We worked in pairs to find out what these words mean and discussed these words with our friends.
First Day in Room 25

This morning we did our roll and went down to the hall for our powhiri. All new students and parents were welcomed to our CPDS whanau.
We also discussed our classroom requirements and safety in the classroom. Classroom rules are important to keep us safe and maximise our learning time.
